About the Book

At the southernmost part of the island, there was a children’s village. Enormous sandcastles lined the beach, and you could hear the sound of laughter from every corner. This was a village of only children and one of the Seven Sisters dwell. Kshinte was the Great Mother, whose job was to care for the Jacobeans, the children of the island. She taught them patience, acceptance, and life skills. No child ever ventured outside the jungle vine walls that bordered the children from the adult world. There was great danger outside the peaceful village, dangers that children should never have to see. Akara, one of the older Jacobeans, however, couldn’t wait to get out. He dreamed of sword fights, even though he had never seen a sword. He didn’t know why his mind wandered so much.

One night, while contemplating on how tired he is of playing in the children’s world, a star fell from the sky and splashed into the sea just in front of him. After swimming for the falling star, he finally got hold of the glowing stone that contained writings he had never seen in his life. The incident made Kshinte allow the young boy to finally venture out to the adult world, for it was a sign that he needed to search for the stone’s meaning and find his true purpose in life. But was he ready? Tag along with Akara as he faced Devika, the Forest Witch; learned valuable lessons from Yakabo, a sensei; confronted with the dangers of death; and found love in a special princess. Did he turn from being a naïve Jacobean child into a remarkable ZiNGARi traveler?
